Today's New York Times Editorial cut right to the chase. They wasted no time whatsoever in throwing Hillary Clinton right under the bus. After all she has done for the city of New York it would seem that the very least they could do is have a little grace and dignity. But they apparently don't understand what it means to have respect.
According to the New York Times Editorial Board Hillary continuing in this race can is contingent upon two ridiculous requirements.
First of all she is not allowed to use the phrase White voters. Because apparently this is offensive to black voters and we sure as hell can't have that.
But we believe just as strongly that Mrs. Clinton will be making a terrible mistake -- for herself, her party and for the nation -- if she continues to press her candidacy through negative campaigning with disturbing racial undertones.
Yesterday, one time Hillary supporter George McGovern switched his endorsement to Obama and called upon Hillary to exit the race. To some this sudden switch of allegiance signaled a shift among Hillary supporters and a sure sign of a certain end to her campaign. But to more astute observers it demonstrated how weak McGovern's support was to begin with. After all, when a so-called friend abandons you because it is more politically expedient to switch sides it is probably a good idea to redefine the term friendship.
Superdelegates await Clinton's next move
"It certainly was not out of any less respect for Sen. Clinton," McGovern said. "I think she has waged a really courageous and valiant campaign. ... But I think mathematically the race is all but won by Barack Obama and the time has come for all of us to unite and get ready for the general election in the fall."
Even long time Hillary supporter Diane Feinstein chimed in offering her skepticism as to why Hillary would want to continue this fight when it was becoming increasingly evident that her chances of winning were minimal and decreasing. And the strife within the Democratic party was creating negative dividends.
The drawn out Democratic presidential race is producing "negative dividends in terms of strife within the party," said a key Senate supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton's White House bid.A day after the Indiana and North Carolina primaries bolstered Sen. Barack Obama's candidacy, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California and a superdelegate, said she wants to talk to Clinton to "see what her view is on the rest of the race. What the strategy is."
Feinstein, who described herself as "very loyal" to Clinton, said "the question comes whether she can get the delegates that she needs and I'd like to know what the strategy is to do that."
It's No Wonder Michelle Calls Him Stinky!
Cross posted at: Pagan PowerAs everyone knows, we are in a recession. The price of food has gone up dramatically. In fact there is a world wide shortage of food. Home sales are at historic lows. Foreclosures have skyrocketed. Jobs are being lost at an extraordinary rate. And the price of gasoline has gone up incredibly. Ordinary Americans are having to choose whether to fill up the tank or fill their bellies. Literally. And two brave politicians have bucked their parties offering a federal gas tax holiday throughout the summer to help out a little, especially to those in greatest need. John McCain first made this proposal but he refused to pay for it, driving us further into debt. Hillary embraced McCain's proposal but did did the responsible thing and required that the measure be paid for. Senator Obama has adamantly opposed this proposal. He has stated on numerous occasions that this is a gimmick that won't really help anyone. And the elite he is, he mocked the small savings that people would experience. Not exactly the compassion that we need in a leader. Especially to the least fortunate that live day to day. Senator Obama claimed that he has tried all this before and therefore he knows it is a gimmick. In fact when he was an Illinois Senator he voted to suspend the State gas tax three times. But he reached the conclusion afterward that it didn't actually help anyone. But Senator Obama was wrong.
Obama is wrong about the gas tax
In fact, the only scientific study done on the pass-through of the tax holiday savings to Illinois consumers (and those in Indiana, as well, whose citizens enjoyed a similar holiday) found that it actually worked to a large extent. The authors concluded that "the suspension of the 5% sales tax led to decreases in retail prices of 3%
compared to neighboring states. And when the tax was reinstated, retail prices rose by roughly 4%."This suggests that the tax holiday delivered at least 60 percent of the tax savings to motorists.
This report: $2.00 GAS! STUDYING THE EFFECTS OF A GAS TAX MORATORIUM is the only one actually done on the gas tax holiday and it proves conclusively that the holiday BENEFITED the citizens of Illinois. So it seems that Senator Obama isn't curious (like George Bush) enough to actually investigate the results of his actions. Or he is the one using a gimmick to hoodwink voters into believing that something his opponent proposes won't benefit them when according to the actual science, it will.
How Hillary Haters have Embraced Right Wing Tactics for Smearing a Good and Loyal Democrat
Cross posted at: Pagan Power
Tom Edsall of Huffington Post has put out what is clearly a last ditch attempt to smear Hillary before the upcoming elections in North Carolina and Indiana. To accomplish his hit job he has employed well honed smear tactics first used by the Republican right over a decade ago. Smear tactics that he undoubtedly learned from that turncoat smearmeister herself, Arianna Huffington. According to Shyster, I mean Tom Edsall, Hillary has a secret "nuclear option" plan for hustling away the nomination from Barack Obama.
Clinton Camp Considering Nuclear Option To Overtake Delegate Lead
Hillary Clinton's campaign has a secret weapon to build its delegate count, but her top strategists say privately that any attempt to deploy it would require a sharp (and by no means inevitable) shift in the political climate within Democratic circles by the end of this month. With at least 50 percent of the Democratic Party's 30-member Rules and Bylaws Committee committed to Clinton, her backers could -- when the committee meets at the end of this month -- try to ram through a decision to seat the disputed 210-member Florida and 156-member Michigan delegations. Such a decision would give Clinton an estimated 55 or more delegates than Obama, according to Clinton campaign operatives.
It all sounds so ominous doesn't it? That mean witch Hillary is going to use some secret weapon to gain the nomination. If you listen to buffoons like Edsall it sounds as if she is going to rip the Democratic party apart. And just to make his imaginary case that this is what Hillary has in the works, Asshole, I mean Edsall quotes a somewhat respected political analyst who describes what the result of this imaginary nefarious plan would yield.

I watched part of the Fox interview with Joe Andrew this morning and have concluded that not only is the guy a backstabber, he is willing to lie BIG TIME to support his heresy.
When asked why Senator Obama was the right choice for Indiana, Andrew uttered that well known lie that I thought at least DNC officials were immune to. I am paraphrasing here because I am still so incensed from watching him say it that I refuse to wait for the transcript. But here is what the buffoon said:
"Hillary Clinton voted for the Iraq war and quite clearly Senator Obama voted against it."
Methinks Mr. Andrew has had just one too many sips of the Kool-Aid because surely he knows that Senator Obama didn't vote one way or the other on the Iraq war. Because he was not a US Senator at the time. But I suppose to Kool-Aid converts a little inconvenient thing like a fact isn't going to stop them from creating the mythology that they wish to portray upon their leader.
After yesterday's revelations of Barack Obama's plans to fix the Great Lakes of Oregon and take care of Oregon's Veterans of Pennsylvania his campaign did what they do best. They scrubbed the information, made it disappear and then acted like it never existed.
But like all things on the internet, it is impossible to fully erase something. And wouldn't you know it, a friend known as crimsonhaz3 found this today and sent it to me. So now everyone can see that Obama was serious about his stated plans to begin with. What fools we were to doubt him.
Don't believe me? See for yourself!

Barack Obama has no shame. He will look you right in the eye and lie to your face with a big grin. And he won't even think about the consequences his lies have upon your life. Because with Barack Obama only one thing is important. Power. And he will resort to every trick in the book to get it. As you know, Obama opposes the gas tax holiday proposed by McCain and Hillary. And for convenience sake Obama decides to lump the two proposals together even though they are not only separate; one is responsible (Hillary) and one is not (McCain.) Then he uses the job loss card to scare Indiana voters into rejecting a proposal that will benefit each of their families. Because according to Barack Obama, if the people of Indiana support Hillary's plan to give tax relief to working families it will cost Indiana 6000 jobs.
Obama's Prepared Remarks for Indiana Presser
Just this morning, there was an article in the paper about how the real beneficiaries of this tax holiday would be the oil companies, who'd walk away with billions more in profits.Meanwhile, unless you can magically impose a windfall profits tax on oil companies overnight to pay for the holiday, it could imperil federal highway funding, and cost Indiana more than 6,000 jobs.
So in one fell swoop, in a single sentence Obama manages to distort the purpose of the tax holiday and twist it around to make it appear as if Hillary is doing this to reward Big Oil. And there can only be one reason for doing that. He doesn't want the people of Indiana to realize how well financed he is by BIG OIL. And he sure doesn't want them to remember that it was him that voted for the Bush-Cheney-Obama Energy Bill that gave these huge profits to BIG OIL to begin with.

Senator Obama is at it again, taking credit for things someone else is doing and trying to craft an image of himself as an innovator and a leader. The only problem is that he is getting caught with his pants down making an ass of himself for all to see. As almost everyone knows, Hillary crafted an Oregon Compact that specified how she would promote issues specific to Oregon to help the people of the state. And as usual Senator Obama was forced to come up with his own plan for Oregon. But he made just a slight mistake. A 1700 mile mistake you might say. Because in his CHANGE OREGON CAN BELIEVE IN plan he promised:
Barack Obama will reinvigorate the drinking water standards that have been weakened under the Bush administration and update them to address new threats. He will help communities by restoring better federal financing for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, and he will continue his leadership in protecting national treasures like the Great Lakes from threats such as industrial pollution, water diversion, and invasive species. Obama will establish policies to help high-growth regions with the challenges of managing their water supplies.
Of course this glaring mistake didn't phase Senator Obama. I guess he figures that a bunch a hicks like us wouldn't know that the Great Lakes are in the northern Midwest portion of our country, not on the west coast. And when confronted by this obvious whopper the elite Obama campaign answered as we have come to expect from them. They said something equally as stupid.
